The Profond Investment Foundation at a Glance
Established in 2016, our Investment Foundation is a legally independent entity which is wholly owned by Profond Pension Fund. We invest in real estate in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, and actively manage it, and we are expanding our portfolio in an effective way. Our real estate portfolio, which includes residential as well as commercial and logistics properties, comprises 142 properties and has a market value of around 2.5 billion Swiss francs (as of December 2023).
We invest sustainably and for the long term
Our declared aim is to invest Profond’s pension fund assets not only profitably, but also in a responsible manner. This means that, in addition to the economic aspects, we also take ecological and social criteria into account when making acquisitions. Our investment decisions are based on a long-term holding period and a focus on the life cycle: we do not just consider the one-off investment costs, but also the operating and maintenance costs incurred over the entire period. In line with our guiding principle of sustainability, we only invest in locations that are considered attractive in the long term. One feature of such locations is that they are easily accessible by public transport.

The Real Estate Committee, as a strategic committee in the area of real estate, is a body of the Investment Foundation and forms one of the special committees. Profond Pension Fund established the Profond Investment Foundation on 19 January 2016. All directly held properties of the Pension Fund were transferred to this Foundation. Profond Pension Fund is the sole owner of the Investment Foundation.
