With an interest rate of 4.6 per cent over 5 years, Profond won in the 2026 pension fund comparison. The company also received the award for the best investment return and the innovation award.
For the 18th time, Profond has been awarded the prize for the best interest rate over the last 5 years (2021–2025) in the pension fund comparison carried out by the SonntagsZeitung, Finanz und Wirtschaft, and Bilan. This year, the company also received the award for the best investment return over 5 years and the innovation award.
“We are very pleased about the awards for the best interest rate and return,” said Christian Fuchs, Head of Pension Services and Deputy Managing Director at Profond, at the awards ceremony. “They confirm to us that we are on the right track to achieve our long-term goals: to ensure financial stability and to be among the best pension funds in Switzerland.”
Profond credited the retirement assets with 2.25% in 2025, and the average interest rate over the last 5 years was 4.6%. The investment return over the last 5 years was also 4.6%. This above-average return and interest rate are the result of our investment strategy focusing on sustainable capital growth.
Recognition with the innovation award
This year, we were pleased to also receive the innovation award. This was presented to us for our broad approach to innovation. This includes online offerings, such as free webinars (in German and French) and e-mail courses for insured members and interested parties, as well as a new AI podcast for expats. It also includes new benefits on the market, such as a temporary reduction in the level of employment with a possible continuation of insurance and the abolition of the reduction of the spouse’s or partner’s pension in the event of a later marriage or partnership. Christian Fuchs says: “We are proud to have won this prize as well. We want to respond to customers’ constantly changing needs. To achieve this, we consistently develop our benefits, launch new knowledge formats and rely on target-group-oriented communication across various channels. We are pleased that this work is recognised by the presentation of the innovation award.”
The pension fund comparison was carried out by SonntagsZeitung, Finanz und Wirtschaft, and Bilan for the 21st time. The pension funds at the top of the pension fund comparison by the consulting company Weibel Hess & Partner AG receive awards every year.
